  Live in Kailua so we like to patronize local businesses. Used to love going here but not worth it anymore . There is always a long line of mostly Japanese tourists bused in and the wait for a table is ridiculous. Resorted to take out the last few times but their costs are just too much. Ordered a short stack (2) of Mac pancakes and it was $11.51 so basically $5.50 a pancake. They only take cash so if there's quite a few of you, better have lots of $ on hand. As much as I enjoy the food (good not spectacular) not worth the cost. Been there and done that. Time to patronize other businesses that pay a little more attention to the local clientele.

  After hearing people mention Boots & Kimo's for years now I finally went and I'm sad to say I was a little disappointed. We got there an hour after it opens so 8:30am and there was already a line of people waiting for seats. We had a party of 6 and the wait was 1 hour. It turned out to be a little over an hour before we got seated.
  The service was good except they only brought 5 waters and when we asked for an extra one, it never came. However, the food came relatively fast. It was about only 15 min or less after we ordered when the food arrived.
  I ordered the corned beef hash with hash browns and over easy eggs. The corned beef hash was bland and dry but we also ordered their famous pancakes with the mac nut sauce which was what I was looking forward to the most. The sauce really was good, not too sweet and it wasn't drenched in it either. However, the pancakes itself was a little doughy in my opinion.
  All in all, it wasn't worth the wait but it's just one of those places where I can finally say I went to.
